Mario Kart Fight #2

The second fight in an ongoing series of fights. Doug and Kyle duke it out in BattleMode of Mario Kart for the Super Nintendo!
The two contestants are warming up. Picking their vehicles and drivers.

Sitting in player 1's seat, Kyle has the preferred position for the match. Kyle has always been used to the top slot and there are beliefs thast the top slot has a mystical advantage.
Sitting in playter 2's seat for this match. Doug has always been used to sitting in the top slot. Being is Seat #2 may be the downfall of him in this match.

Kyle and Doug have had their warmup games. Both are getting used to their positions and the excitement is becoming unbearable as both players are showing huge amounts of emotions regarding even the tiniest of events in these games. And the official fight is starting!
Doug picks up a red shell and Kyle manages to get himself a red shell after a couple boxes. Doug is homing in on Kyle. Kyle rounds the corner and faces Doug. But only momentarily, and soon realizes there is a red shell coming his way. Kyle fires his red shell. Kyle is nailed with Dougs very first item of the match! Kyle takes a hit while Doug gets away with a very successfulo hit and run.
Doug 3 - Kyle 2
Very close there. Kyle almost made the dodge, and was actually quite close to hitting Doug with his own red shell, but somehow Doug manages to get away hit free. Wow, Dougs second item of the game is another red shell. what are the odds! Kyle is still recovering from his hit. Doug is pulling a 270 degree powerslide! He has circled around in front of Kyle! Kyle gets a box, but it's too late. Dougs red shell is already on its way! Kyle is hit! Kyle is hit! Barely a chance to recover and Kyle goes down for a second time!
Doug 3 - Kyle 1
Kyle gets his item while still spinning and reeling from his last hit. And it's a ghost! This is sure to slow the game down and allow Kyle to recover and start a comeback. Doug is now going around searching for green shells. Doug gets a mushroom. Doug gets a ghost, which is promptly stolen. Doug is getting demoralized as he will have to wait a while after getting a green sheel before he can even think of hunting Kyle with one. While it has been known to happen, the likeliness of hunting a ghosted player with a green shell is higly improbable. And Doug gets a red shell. The dreaded red shell. Kyle takes it away. Doug then turns into the middle for a box, but that is a stupid move, as Kyle has just moved into the middle with his newly acquired red shell. And it's off. Doug thinks he is safe near the wall, but that shell comes homing in with amazing accuracy. Doug is hit! Kyle is beginning his comeback.
Doug 2 - Kyle 1
Kyle then goes to pick up a star. Kyle is safe for a small while. He uses his star as he goes over another box and gets another star! Doug better be hiding well. Unfortunately for Doug, Kyle already has his sights set on him. Doug attempts a 180, but gets stuck against a wall and Kyle nails his with his first star. Kyle still has a 2nd star and Doug is now down to one balloon!
Doug 1 - Kyle 1
Down to the line. One balloon each. Advantage: Kyle. Kyle uses his second star and continues pursuit. Doug is trying to lose Kyle while attempting to get items in the process. A mushroom gives Doug a moment of breathing room, but uses it to get another box next to a wall. Doug almost stops. Kyle is coming in hard. Kyle just misses Doug by an inch as Doug gets away with his new item, a red shell. Kyle's star is wearing off and he breaks pursuit of Doug to search for another item. Kyle gets a red shell. One balloon each, one red shell each. The end is near! Both Kyle and Doug run along the outside of the map for a bit and gain momentum. Then Kyle moves for the middle. Doug shortly follows suit. Kyle is in the open, but around a corner from Doug. Doug is out in the open! This is it! Doug fires! Kyle fires! Dougs shot is going wide, Kyles shot is heading straight in! Kyle's hit! Kyle's hit!
Doug 1 - Kyle 0
Doug takes the win! Doug avenges his first fight loss!
