Mario Kart Fight #1

The first fight in an ongoing series of fights. Doug and Kyle duke it out in BattleMode of Mario Kart for the Super Nintendo!
The two contestants are warming up. Picking their vehicles and drivers.

Sitting in player 1's seat, Doug has the preferred position for the match. Doug considers the top slot an asset as it is easy to view the opponents items with ease.
Sitting in playter 2's seat for this match. While Kyle did not get his preferred seating, he was able to secure his preferred driver for his Kart.

On this cold monday evening, these two players are about to start the first Fight Club match. And they're off! Both players are hopeful to get the first win in DougTheSlug.ca's fight club Mario Kart Edition. The action is heating up. Several red shells have already been fired but superior driving skills on both parts have prevented any hits. A ghost is now slowing the pace of the game down. Since Kyle knows Doug would steal a more valuable weapon, Kyle decides to stick with a green shell and go hunting. Doug is taunting Kyle, making runs in front of Kyle trying to lure him to make his shot. Kyle gets his shot off, unsuccessfully though. Kyle picks up a red shell, which is immediately stolen by Doug. Oh what a waste. Doug sends that shot off into a wall. Many shells are picked up and fired with futility. Doug finally picks up a red shell, pulls a nice little one lane U-Turn and gets the first hit of the match!
Doug 3 - Kyle 2
Once again we find ourselves with a ghost. Doug has the ghost and Kyle is hunting with the green shell. Oh! What a shot. So close! Kyle pulled a 180 right in front of Doug and managed to fire his green shell almost directly at Doug. Doug still has the ghost. After a few banana peels and green shells, Doug finally uses the ghost. Then Kyle picks up a ghost, and Doug is on the hunt with green shells. Until Doug picks up the dreaded red shell. Stolen almost immediately, Kyle capitalizes on the moment and goes in for a head on with Doug. Firing off his red shell, it looks like he has a hit. But no! Doug pulls out a red shell of his own at the last moment and the shells hit each other. What an amazing play! Kyle finally ties up the game a few minutes later with a nice sneak in front.
Doug 2 - Kyle 2
Doug doesn't even see it coming. Kyle comes out in front of Doug near the end of an outer aisle and smacks down Doug with a red shell. Doug never had a chance on that one. All of a sudden, Kyle's driving skills go down the drain. Hitting walls with exceptional accuracy. But as quickly as he loses these skills, he regains them. Doug picks up a star and breathes a momentary sigh of relief. Using the star to simply find another box. Doug usually doesn't do very well on the attack with stars and finds himself in a vulnerable position when the star runs out. Doug picks up a green shell for security. But Kyle picks up a red shell. As Doug's star is dying off, Doug makes a run in front of Kyle attempting a shot with his green shell, but Kyle pounces on the moment and fires his red shell! Doug never fired his green shell and takes a hit from Kyle's red shell!

As Kyle nears victory, he picks up another red shell right away. Doug is struggling to get a decent item. Kyle uses this time to catch up with Doug and start trailing him. Doug lays a mine in the path of Kyle, using green turtle shells to help speed his escape and give him time to find a red shell. Instead Doug finds a star. Doug makes one pass at Kyle with the star unsuccessfully and continues on his way to find a better weapon. Many items later, Kyle comes out with a red shell, Doug with a green shell. Doug fires his green shell, Kyle fires his red shell! Dougs' green shell narrowly misses Kyle while Kyle hits Doug with his red shell!

Kyle takes the win! With 2 balloons to spare! Kyle puts Doug away.
