Battle Royale Imagine your Grade 9 class goes on a field trip. You are in the bus. You are with your friends, and you look around at the other children, in their cliques or sitting alone. You drift off alseep.

You awake sprawled over a desk. An instructor at the front of the room tells you your class has been selected for 'the program'.

This is unbelievable. Impossible!

A student next to you, your best friend actually, stands to protest. The instructor pulls out a pistol and shoots him twice in the chest and once in the head.

Silence fills the room.

At the back of the room a girl sobs and whispers to a friend.

The instructor hits her in the forhead with a throwing knife.

He now has your complete attention.

"You will take these bags with the weapons in them, and go off into the island, and kill each other. Watch your map, because every 6 hours 3 zones will be forbidden. Dont go in them or..."

You now notice a silver collar attached around your neck.

"... You will die."

"The last one alive wins. If you try to escape the island, you will die. If you go into a forbidden zone you will die. If you decide not to kill each other then after 24 hours... you all die."

"Good luck, I hope to see one of you back here alive in a few days," the man says cheerfully.

This is a violent and severly twisted book. In Japan in provoked outrage and becamed banned for a short while. Thinking about htis book makes me violently shake out of stress, fear and horror. This is the book you learned to read for. It is like life, beautiful and absolutely horrible.

Only read it if you think you can handle it.
